Cop drags ex-wife to court
A POLICEMAN has dragged his former wife to court seeking a downward variation in maintenance payments.
Doubt Chigede accused his ex-wife, Rachel Madzongo, of only considering her daughter, and not his children, with another woman.
“Your Worship, I have five children, but her child is getting a lot of money.
“I have triplets who need special care. I want the court to divide my money to be shared equally among my ex-wife's daughter and my current wife's children because they are all my children.
“My salary is $200 000 and US$150 allowance per month.
“Your Worship, last month my ex-wife claimed an upward variation of $80 000 and it is almost half of my salary for one child, and it's not fair,” said Chigede.
In response, Madzongo said: “I don't know the money which he is talking about because in previous months he hasn't been maintaining his daughter.”
However, magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini divided Chigedes salary among his five children and granted a downward variation to $25 000 plus US$30 with effect from November 30.
