New promoter emerges in Jozi
A NEW kid in Johannesburg entertainment circles has been born.
Lovemore Mubaira, who is the owner of Rich and Famous Entertainment, has vowed to promote Zimbabwean artists.
He recently promoted Freeman, who was promoting his latest album David & Goliath, in South Africa.
The 41-year-old Mubaira has been in the entertainment business from as far back as 2002 in Chitungwiza.
“I used to host Christmas and New Year bashes back at home in Chitungwiza.
“It used to get packed with over 200 people in the backyard. “So, this isn’t something really new but I had just taken a back seat,” said the soft-spoken Luvrich.
He has previously worked with artists such as Killer T, Ricky Fire, Ex-Q, among others.
Mubaira left Zimbabwe in the middle of the 2000 decade and is an established entrepreneur who runs a thriving construction company called, Duratech, which is based in Montana, Pretoria.
He grew up in Unit J in Chitungwiza and attended Seke 8 Primary School.
He then went on to study at Denmark College where he got his IT and marketing qualifications.
Mubaira was born in a family of ten and is the fourth born. He is married with three kids, one of whom is now based in Europe.
Apart from construction, he is also into manufacturing and engineering, where he employs about 20 full-time employees.
He has a team, which concentrates on the Rich and Famous Entertainment, who include Reason Big Fadda Chikwavira, DJ Dee Vibes (Tinashe Mangena) and Wisdom Mtungwazi.
“I don’t make decisions alone as it is normally a recipe for disaster. “These three guys are the ones on the ground and ensure all the logistics are in place,” said Mubaira.
He revealed all the payments for their upcoming shows have been done and all that remains is for the artists to entertain the fans.
“I advise artists and promoters to be professional in their approach.
“They must ensure that all contracts are in place so that you both protect each other.
“Music is an industry and from our end we will never disappoint,” he said.
