COUNCIL PROPOSES US$23.5 MILLION BUDGET
CHINHOYI Municipality councillors have proposed a US$23, 5 million budget.
They say this will help them implement sustainable service delivery.
The municipality spokesperson and public relations manager, Tichaona Mlauzi, confirmed the proposal.
He told H-Metro they took into consideration a consented engagement process with their residents and stakeholders.
Presenting the 2023 budget, chairman of the finance committee, Councillor Voster Mashevedzanwa, said the budget focuses on addressing service delivery gaps such as water supply, waste management and other service provisions.
“The budget was informed by consultation with residents and stakeholders.
“The budget is anchored on the NDS1 whose objective is to strengthen infrastructure and social safety nets and modernise the economy through the use of ICT and digital technology among the 14 priority areas,” said Mashevenzanwa.
Chinhoyi mayor, Councillor Garikai Dendera, concurred with Mashevenzanwa.
He encouraged the residents to work together with the Council for the growth and development of the town.
Copies of the proposed budget are found at the office of the Director of Financial Services Office Town House, Municipality of Chinhoyi Gadzema offices, Chikonohono Clinic, Chinhoyi Clinic, Mzari Poly Clinic, Alaska Clinic and Shackleton Clinic.
