BULAWAYO CHIEFS striker, Billy Veremu, said he was delighted to be on the scoresheet on Sunday in their 2-0 win over Yadah in their last match of the season at Luveve.

Veremu scored the two goals to enable Chiefs to secure a seventh-place finish, their best since breaking into the PSL, in 2018.

The victory took Chiefs’ points’ tally to 49 points.

“I was delighted to be on the scoresheet and I want to thank God for everything, all credit goes to him. “It is a great feeling to score goals and for me scoring a brace is a big relief.

“It really boosts my confidence ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup final on Sunday.”

He added:

“This season we worked very hard on the training ground and credit also goes to the other players, coaches and the technical department for pushing us to achieve our goals.

“I’m very pleased that we finished in number seven and it is a great achievement for us as a club.

“The morale is very high and everyone is very excited about the cup final and we have to put extra effort and energy in training as we prepare for Herentals. “So, I’m looking forward to this game and I hope we will win the final.

“It will be an opportunity for us to represent Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederation Cup next season,” he said.
