Woman says ex a womanizer
A Harare woman has accused her former husband of being a womaniser.
Melody Rwambiwa took ex-husband, Luckwell Kanengoni, to the Harare Civil Court where she applied for $182 000 for the upkeep of their three minor children.
“When we divorced, he asked for the children, but refused to return them to me and denied me access to them.
“He lives in a camp where he brought girlfriends in the presence of the children and he would get involved in fights with them,” she said.
Rwambiwa said Kanengoni was an irresponsible father.
“He has been neglecting the needs of our three children since 2020. I want $182 000 so that I can take care of the children.
“He is a civil servant who earns $100 000 plus US$225,” she said.
In response, Kanengoni offered $40 000 plus US$20 for the three children.
“My offer is $40 000 plus US$20. I will pay school fees if the children are learning at Presidential Guard School because the school fees will be deducted from my salary, which is easy for me. “I have no problem taking care of my children, but I have other responsibilities. I take care of my parents, my brother who is mentally ill, and I have injuries that have been confirmed by a doctor which need medical care,” Kanengoni added.
Rwambiwa interjected, telling the court that Kanengoni sustained the injuries while fighting with his girlfriends.
“The injuries he is talking about are from fighting with his girlfriends.
“I was even awarded a protection order after he came where I stay to physically assault me,” she said.
Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Kanengoni to pay $50 000 plus US$50 as well as school fees for the three children.
