Sex worker robbed, murdered

A 24-YEAR-OLD sex worker was allegedly robbed of US$20 and murdered by two of her clients.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said investigations were underway.

“The ZRP is investigating a murder case where a woman was attacked by two unknown male suspects who she had offered sex for US$20,” he said.

“After the act, the suspects allegedly demanded the money they had paid before severely assaulting the victim with sticks and robbing her of US$20.”

Ass Comm Nyathi said the victim succumbed to the injuries. Meanwhile, police are investigating a case of murder in which Welfare Gombingo, 42, allegedly killed his 17-year-old niece after he assaulted her for coming home late from church in October.

“The victim, who sustained severe injuries, died on November 18 while admitted at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital,” he said.

Police in Chinhoyi also arrested Cristabel Tizora, 24, for infanticide.

“The suspect allegedly gave birth to a baby girl, killed the baby, and wrapped the body with a towel, which she placed in a sack before enclosing it in a bucket with stones,” Ass Comm Nyathi said.

“Police recovered the bucket in the suspect’s room, and the body was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem.”
