‘Estate agent harassing me’
A SINGLE mother has dragged an estate agent to court seeking a peace order, citing physical abuse.
Rosesweeter Matienga said she has had enough of the harassment she has suffered from estate agent Heather Mufandaedza.
Presiding magistrate Tamara Chibindi postponed the ruling today.
Matienga said: “I met this woman through social media because I was looking for a flat to rent online.
“She then told me in my inbox that she had a flat ready for occupation.
“I went to pay rent to her and moved into her flat. “A few days afterwards, she started putting key blocker as if I didn’t pay my rentals in full.
“She told me she is used to staying with singles who take baths at 7am not 6am.
“I have two children who go to school early.”
Matienga also blamed the agent for the communication breakdown.
“She should have told me on the first day that there was a time table for bathing and I could have adjusted.
“All I want is for her to accept my money as I look for accommodation because zvakuita kunge ndikugara mahara,” she said.
In response, Mufandaedza disputed the allegations. “I didn’t lock her out, but the landlord is the one who locked her doors.
“I am only an agent; I don’t know where the owner of the flat stays, but probably in Norton.
“I am shocked that she applied for a peace order,” said Mufandaedza.
