WHAT A GOLDEN GAMBLE

- H-Metro Reporter

ZIMGOLD Multimillionaire Promotion winner, Constance Kabanya, has described it as a God-sent reward.

Kabanya said she only entered the competition once after buying a box of ZimGold cooking oil in Domboshava.

She never thought she would be $10 million richer through that purchase.

“This is my first time entering a competition and I am super excited at winning it.

“This prize money will definitely change my life.

“I used the last money I had to buy the box and I don’t know what made me want to buy the whole box since I used to only buy units.”

She said she almost threw away the entry card, together with the empty box.

The competition also saw Josiah Hwesu and Daisy Rugubhe each walking away $2 million richer.

Hwesu had the most individual entries of 6 950, while Rugubhe bought a box of ZimGold margarine.

Pure Oil Industries executive chairman, Pradyumn Ganediwal, said the competition surpassed their expectations.

“We are very happy that the Millionaire Promotion has impacted on the lives of ordinary people.

“The competition saw over 150 000 entries from across the country and this can only mean that it was successful and we want to even grow bigger than this in the next promotion,” said Ganediwal.

Ganediwal has also revealed the company’s plans to make sunflower oil.

“When we were growing up, we only knew about sunflower cooking oil, but we lost it somewhere along the way. “We need to pursue that as Pure Oil and we can achieve it.

“We have already begun rolling out free sunflower seeds to small scale contract farmers and to date we have distributed seeds for 109 000 hectares. “Our target is 120 000 hectares.

“Our farmers will sell the sunflower in the currency of their choice,” he said.

The company is confident that it can bring back sunflower oil onto the shelves as early as next year.
