ZERO TOLERANCE TO GBV
WOMEN’S Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister, Dr Sithembiso Nyoni, yesterday called for zero tolerance to Gender-Based violence (GBV).
She made the call after a march by parliamentarians in commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Minister Nyoni said it was everyone’s job to find ways of fighting this scourge.
“The cases of GBV keep on increasing with each day and I think it’s time we work hand in hand as a nation to fight and stop GBV once-and-for-all.
“Our contemporary situation needs us to amplify our voices for a zero tolerance to GBV, raise awareness and express solidarity with all those who have departed.
“There are a number of GBV cases that have emerged this year where many women and children are being raped or abused.
“We recorded sad cases where minor children have been impregnated at a tender age.”
