INVEST IN EDUCATION, CHURCH LEADERS URGED

- Arron Nyamayaro

A CHURCH leader has challenged Christians to invest in education.

Apostle Stephen Mangwanya said people who fail to further their education, or do not send their children to school, will continue to rely on false prophets who will fleece them due to lack of knowledge.

He said this while addressing male church elders, from various denominations, who met at Zindoga Shopping Centre, for a grooming seminar.

“We have a mandate to equip church members and the best way of equipping them is to urge them to further their educational qualifications,” said Apostle Mangwanya.

“A number of people remain in poverty and consult false prophets because they failed to further their education and the so-called prophets take advantage of that and rob them of their hard-earned money.

“Zvinotangira pakunzi tenga mazai nemukaka tikudire mumusoro munyama upore.

“Arikuitwa izvi haana njere dzekuziva kuti mazai ndeekudya uye mukaka haudirwe mumusoro.

“You will learn that such victims of false prophets have failed to complete their education due to financial challenges and they continue to be robbed of their wealth.

“The Bible says my people perish due to lack of knowledge, so it is our duty as church elders to help families in furthering their education, apart from praying for them.”

He urged Christians to have recognised certificates of their trade to remain relevant in business circles and in nation building.

“Vose varikudya mari dzavo pano paZindoga havana kuba mari idzi, asi kuti vanoshanda uye vakadzidzira mabasa avo nekudaro ngatidzidzei kwete kushungurudza vakadzidza muchivati vakaromba kana kuti varikuroya vamwe,” he said.

He challenged men to value their families by taking time to teach their own children so that they would not be vulnerable to false teachings and abuse of social media.

“Beware of indoctrination emanating from false teachers and those abusing social media,” said Apostle Mangwanya.

“We want men of wisdom who value their families and take time in helping them with sound doctrine and defend them from being polluted by wrong information posted on social media.

“Pay fees on time and invest your future through educating your children and humble yourselves before God by taking time to pray with others,” he said.
