Chafa delighted with happy ending

CAPS UNITED midfielder, Devon Chafa, has said he is delighted the Green Machine managed to redeem themselves and end the season with some momentum.

Makepekepe had a season to forget, as they fought relegation for the better part of it and only ended five points above the drop zone.

He said they had to believe as a team when things were not going their way because they didn’t want to be associated with the downfall of Makepekepe.

“We just believed and didn’t want to be the crop of players associated with the demise of CAPS United.

“As the season drew to a close, we started to enjoy our game and collect crucial points which put smiles back on the fans’ faces.

“The fear of being average is a push factor in everything I do.

“I also have great support and help from the coaches who believe in me and my abilities.

“You try to use everything you have learnt along the way and be positive all the time.”

Chafa, who now shares a record seven league titles with FC Platinum’s Gift Bello, said he would be pleased if he could get his hands on another crown.

“Winning titles with the clubs I played for will always be memorable.

“It’s something that I will live with and always reflect on.

“Given a chance, I would like to add another one to the tally.”

Chafa said he also cherishes the time he represented the country as part of the Warriors’ set-up.

“Representing my country is the greatest football memory I will have.

“Being in the national team will remain my biggest and most memorable occasion in my football career,” he said.

Several clubs are reportedly chasing his signature, including newboys, Simba Bhora, who are looking for experience.
