MANONDO FOR DEMBARE?

- Bruce Chikuni

IT’S likely to be one of the biggest deals of the off-season break CAPS United forward, William Manondo, joining Dynamos.

Negotiations between the two parties are said to be at an advanced stage.

A Dynamos official confirmed the developments to H-Metro.

“We are very close to an agreement. I can say the deal is almost done,” said the official.

“We have made him our priority signing and he has proven that he can deliver under difficult circumstances.

“We are also going to add two or three more strikers, and this means we are going to release other players to create room for the new arrivals.”

Manondo won the 2022 Castle Lager Premiership Golden Boot after banging in 17 goals.

He is also among the favourites to land the Soccer Star of the Year award.

The PSL awards are set for Friday.

The Dynamos official also confirmed they have parted ways with all foreign players, except midfielder Emmanuel Paga.

Paga finished the season as the club’s leading goal scorer after netting 10 times.

Alex Orotomol, Martin Ofori, Stephen Appiah and Albert Eonde have all been shipped out.

Orotomol, Ofori and Eonde flopped, scoring one goal each, while Appiah saw very little action.

Dynamos have also agreed terms with Black Rhinos’ hitman, Elie IIunga, who banged in nine goals in the just-ended campaign.

IIunga is now a free agent.

Should the move materialise, Ilunga will be the second player from Chauya Chipembere to join Dynamos in the current transfer window. Defender, Gareth Madhake, was the first.

The club also revealed that negotiations with Talent Chawapiwa and Yadah’s highly-rated defender, Bruno Kadamanja, are still ongoing.

Reports suggest that Kadamanja is also being monitored by Chicken Inn.

Meanwhile, Frank Makarati, the only Dynamos player voted among the Soccer Stars of the Year, is likely to join either Ngezi Platinum Stars or FC Platinum.

The platinum sides are said to have stepped up their pursuit of Makarati with a lucrative offer.

The gangly defender’s contract is set to expire next month.

A sensational return for Blessing Moyo, who was shown the exit by FC Platinum, is also on the cards.
