YAKOPE RIDDIM MAKING WAVES

. . . LAUNCHED IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

- Nyasha Kada

THE newly-released Yakope riddim is making waves after it was launched in three different countries in the last few weeks.

Featuring upcoming and seasoned chanters, the riddim was recently launched in the country, UK and South Africa.

The Harare launch took place at Nyaguwa Gardens in Dzivaresekwa, courtesy of Judge Divine of Bigyardz Music and Trinnie Beatz, who is the producer of the project.

Fresh chanters — Star Vybz, Yut Killer, Major King and Boi Breezy — showcased their talent at the event.

In the UK, the riddim was launched at Dunstable Town Cricket Club.

King Alfred, Fyah Bantu and DJ Latria Blues performed at the UK launch.

The launch ended at Rampage Club in Kempton Park, South Africa, with DJ Inno B sampling some tunes off the compilation.

The show was headlined by Hwinza.

“The riddim has been received well and all launches were a great success.

“The Yakope riddim has managed to give a platform to upcoming artists, as all the launch events in the different countries centred on showcasing the new talent.

“We are now working on a radio tour launch where the riddim will be launched on various radio stations.

“We also still have several artists that are making late entries on the riddim, which is a good thing as it gives more mileage to the production,” said Fyah Bantu.

Fyah Bantu, real name Tatenda Mateuro, is battling cancer and music has been his pillar of strength and inspiration in fighting the disease.

Yakope riddim is a compilation in memory of his late father, Yakope Mateuro.
