IN response to 118 returnees flee isolation, GWIZHIKITI says: This was coming. The government is broke and cannot take care of everyone at the quarantine centres. So how do ministers Mthuli Ncube (Finance), Obadiah Moyo (Health), Monica Mutsvangwa (Information) and Paul Mavima (Social Welfare) feel after lying to the nation that they were ready to tackle the coronavirus pandemic? Were it in another country, they would have long resigned. But well, since this is Zimbabwe, a banana republic, liars and failures are always rewarded. How can they resign when their own boss, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who promised heaven on earth in the run-up to the 2018 elections, has failed even on a single one of them? The horses have bolted, inflation is cruising, public transport system is a nightmare, prices are shooting through the roof and the health sector is in comatose.

IN response to Pampering executives improves city status: Mayor, MAZVANYA says: Mutare mayor Blessing Tandi should have his brain checked. How does pampering executives spruce up the image of a city? In all honest, these city fathers should learn from yesteryear city fathers, who were not much after nice things found in today’s world. They wanted to see a better future for citizens. Their focus was on leaving a mark. Today’s city fathers are so engrossed with amassing wealth, they want to be seen as lofty. That is why they talk of being pampered, yet they are very pathetic in service delivery. I hope Tandi said this as a joke. If he was speaking from his heart, then shame on him.

IN response to ‘Let’s unite to end Zim crises’, MBUDAYA says: Our leaders will never unite. They will never go to the negotiating table. They only care about themselves. They are egocentric and want to see the other part kneel first and accept defeat. But it is the ordinary person on the street, the poor one, who is affected the most. Escalating prices will affect the poor. Shortages, hunger and starvation will only face the poor. So no matter how much civic society organisations, churches, individuals try to intervene and chart a way forward, it will be a futile exercise.

IN response to ‘Parly useless without MDC Alliance MPs’, MBUDAYA says: Zanu PF does not care. President Emmerson Mnangagwa does not even lose sleep. They will railroad all Bills and legal instruments to suit their cause. Zanu PF has to be dealt with in the next election in 2023.
