Highlands director explains Ndoro exit

-

JOHANNESBURG — Highlands Park have explained in more detail their release of striker Tendai Ndoro.

Ndoro joined the Lions of the North as a free agent in 2018 after he was released by Ajax Cape Town.

He only scored five goals during his stay with the Johannesburgbased club and recently took a 20% salary cut to help cut costs during lockdown.

“Look, he’s a quality player," one of the club’s directors Brad Kaftel tells KickOff.com.

“He scored that vital goal for us against Bloemfontein Celtic late last season to get us those points but he hasn’t done much this season. The coach couldn’t play him, so if he’s not performing for us, it’s better that he moves on.

“He’s a quality player and I’m sure he will find another club. I think he did well for us last season, but this season really he hasn’t done much, I think he scored one or two goals.

“Yes, it’s the coach who has to pick him but I think the player has to prove to the coach that he has to be in the starting eleven. But he hasn't done that.”

According to Ndoro’s agent Steve Kapelschunick, the divorce between his client and the club still required some paperwork to be completed when we contacted him on Wednesday afternoon.

“We are busy finalising everything, it's not 100% done. We’ve just got to sign some paperwork,” Kapelschunick said.

“If you give me one or two days I can tell you, but it’s a little bit early to cross... we haven’t even finished...

“I mean I don’t know how you know these things, you guys are quick hey. You know them even before they happen.

“It’s happening but it hasn’t happened. It’s 95% there. Hopefully by end of today it will be done. I don’t want to talk about it until everything has been signed.” — Kickoff
