IN response to ED’s son in US$1m COVID-19 tender scam, MBUDAYA says: What used to happen during the late former President Robert Mugabe’s rein is repeating itself. Zanu PF politicians and government bureaucrats would steal in his name, intimidating everyone who stood in their path. We thought with his removal from office, all that would be gone. But since we see that there is a continuing trend, we are forced to believe that it’s the current regime which used to use Mugabe’s name to loot public funds and strip State enterprises. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has not admonished known criminals such as Delish Nguwaya, considering how many times his name has been written in the Press for unbecoming behaviour. We are then forced to think that he takes joy in surrounding himself with thugs and criminals.

IN response to No 5-star treatment for retrunees: Mnangagwa, GWIZHIKITI says: President Emmerson Mnangagwa should first talk tough against criminals who are inflating prices in the procurement of equipment to fight. Before that, we can never take him seriously. Zimbabwe needs a tough-talking leader, someone whose voice is thunderous and instils discipline, like what used to happen during the late former President Robert Mugabe’s days. Not to say Mugabe was a good leader, but he was a firm leader. So far, Mnangagwa is nowhere near that.

IN response to Price controls have failed, govt admits, TASARIRAUSHE says: It was bound to happen. We did it in 2008 and what came after that were food shortages. So we were never going to reinvent the wheel. Zimbabwe needs a political and legitimacy solution, not anything else. If that is resolved, then there can be confidence in the economy, there can be growth, there can be jobs, there can be democracy, there can be stability, Zimbabwe can move forward. Other than that, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime will fail from all fronts. They have already failed to fulfil on their 2018 election promises, 2023 is just around the corner. They will be humiliated in the ballot box, because even Zanu PF’s strong rural base has deserted them.

IN response to Chamisa replaces Mwonzora, Komichi, MAPUDEGE says: MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa should not lose focus as we gear for 2023. Instead, he should be busy showing Zanu PF the way forward. He should be crowd-funding for the fight against COVID-19, and donating either personal protective equipment or money raised to a hospital like Gokwe District Hospital, and turn it into Zimbabwe’s biggest referral centre. It’s called strategy.
