Tanic J drops 20 beats

- BY TAFADZWA KACHIKO

YOUNG and versatile producer Tanaka “Tanic J” Siamsapu (pictured) who is signed up with KOSHA brand management has dropped 20 beats of different genres on audiomack, which are up for grabs at between US$10 and US$100.

The beats are being sold under a 30day promotion where those who purchase stand a chance to shoot a video with sponsorship from KOSHA.

The buyer with the hottest track from the beat pack will get their song distributed by Africa's leading distributor, Jungle Entertainment Ventures, under its priority client status.

Tanic J told NewsDay Life & Style yesterday that he had already sold two beats since he uploaded them on audiomack http://smarturl.it/THECATALYSTsoundpack on Monday.

“I made 20 beats for sale and the samples are on audiomack. Any artiste can buy and record because the prices range from US$10 for a basic license, US$50 (premium) and US$100 exclusive. The basic is for the upcoming who will only get the wav file and mp3. On premium, artistes get the same files as basic but have privileges to make changes to the beat and have more user rights, for example, monetisation online and paid performances. Under exclusive, established artistes get all files and full copyrights of the instrumental with no limitations on their usage rights,” he said.

“I have already sold an exclusive and basic license to Maxy Jayy in China and an artist from New Jersey, USA. Locally there are multiple interested parties that have pledged to purchase by end of the week. I however, can't disclose all my clients. The samples are just a minute-long so that a full beat can only be accessed by a buyer. And we provide written agreements concerning the rights and permission use.”

The producer, whose beats are in RnB, Afrobeat and hiphop, said he was largely motivated by the motive to see the music industry growing than profiting. “I produced the beats also to showcase my versatility as a young producer,” he said.

Tanic J has worked with DENIM Woods, T-Gonz, Kikky Badass, Dobba Donn, Roki, Mussa Effect and Maxy Jay.
