ZIMBABWEAN’S football stars Bruce Kangwa and Jimmy Tigere have returned to Tanzania where they have resumed training with Azam FC after missing the first game after the east African country’s Premier League resumed at the weekend.

The duo had been stuck in the country and arrived in Tanzania on Monday after connecting from Ethiopia, having boarded a chartered Air Zimbabwe flight which flew to the east African country via South Africa.

Kangwa and Tigere are excited to be back after three months without kicking a ball owing to the COVID19-induced lockdown.

Former Warriors and Highlanders defender Kangwa told AzamTV that he was looking forward to returning to action.

“It is good to be back to work with the others and continue from where we left after three months. I am happy that I am back here in Tanzania to continue my work. We are looking forward to the FA Cup. Every team wants to win this prestigious cup. We are the holders, so we will do our best to retain it. The fans should continue to support us; we will give them what they want,” Kangwa said.

Tigere, formerly with FC Platinum, was equally ecstatic.

“I am happy to be back for the programme. It has been long without kicking the ball. I have been training individually, but it is not easy. I missed football. It has been three months and we go back to work and continue from where we left,”Tigere said.

The Tanzanian outfit has parted ways with another Zimbabwean Donald Ngoma after his contract expired.
