Budding singer T Gold longs for collabos
AFTER four years of hustling and releasing some singles, rising Afro singer Terence “T Gold” Chihoro (pictured) has launched his professional music career with the recording of his debut Afro gospel album titled Mufaro Wangu.
The eight-track offering, laden with social commentary, was produced by Promise Wezulu at Wezulu Productions studios in Chegutu.
The 23-year-old Andy Muridzoinspired artiste, whose love for music began at a tender age, bemoaned lack of exposure for artistes outside Harare.
“We are trying our best in music, but it is difficult to get that exposure, especially if you are out of Harare. I hope our music will also be heard on the different radio stations,” he said.
“The road has not been that rosy. A lot of challenges have been faced, including studio fees, but knowing what I wanted to achieve I soldiered on. With the help of my supportive parents and a local businessman, Mr Mombe, who has provided some funds I am happy to have fulfilled my dreams to record a full album that marks the beginning of my music career.” As a budding singer, T Gold said he desired an opportunity to share notes and fine-tune his craft through collaborations with seasoned artistes such as Muridzo and award-winning gospel singer Mathias Mhere.
“It is every upcoming artiste’s desire to collaborate and even share the stage with veteran artistes in the industry and I hope one of these days I will be able to be in the studio with those seasoned artistes who inspire me and also learn from them as they have gone through a lot in this industry,” he said. T Gold's singles include Makorokoto, a dedication song to the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Walter Magaya, Ndinokutendai, Dzoka Mudiwa and Kamusalad.
The new album carries the tracks Zodzo, Mweya Mutsvene, Mwari Weminana and Hossannah that will all have videos, Anondida, Mwari Wandakatenda, Nhovo and Mumba Mababa.
