Varsity student ventures into music

BULAWAYO-BASED up-and-coming gospel-rap artiste Sipho Ndlovu (21), popularly known as Hood Legend (Gunz) in music circles, has released a new track titled Revelation. He said his music had been well received by fans and local radio stations.

The musician has recorded 21 songs.

Ndlovu told NewsDay Life & Style that his music was about real life experience­s and addressed problems faced in society.

“My new release basically speaks about the end of time and some of the songs that I have produced are about life situations,” he said.

“My motivation for music is drawn from my struggles, obstacles that I face as an individual and the only proper way to deal with all that was through music.”

The musician said his songs such as Mvelingqan­gi, I Tried and Bafana Bekasi received continuous airplay on Power FM and Khulumani FM.

“My music has made an impact and people are reacting positively especially on the story-telling side,” he said.

Ndlovu said he had worked with various music producers such as Hp Manyenga from Onetime Records and Aggrey of Aggrey Watts Entertainm­ent.

“I have also worked with King Drigga from MatLand Records and shared the stage with various artistes that include EL Siege, 9 Miles and Hp Manyenga which was a learning experience,” he said.

The artiste said his music was readily available on online platforms such as Reverbnati­on, Audiomack, YouTube and

Soundcloud. He is currently pursuing a degree in human resources management at Midlands State University.
