Zanu PF a pain in people’s lives

-

WE at Corruptionforce ask the question: Are the leaders of the revolutionary parties conniving to sweep the dirt under the carpet?

There is a crisis in Zimbabwe, yet the ruling Zanu PF party tells South Africa’s African National Congress to rein in “talkative” officials.

Zimbabwe is in crisis and corruption has played a major part in worsening the situation we find ourselves in. Looting of State funds via shady deals or double invoicing is rampant in Zimbabwe. Zanu PF has a history of scandals. It is because of this corruption that the role of opposition parties is critical to the success of the democratic reforms that the revolutionary parties are dragging their feet to implement.

Zanu PF has gone on to loot resources big time since it has been at the helm of the country since 1980 when Zimbabwe attained independence.

When other revolutionary parties are called upon to censure Zanu PF, there is a closing of ranks because they don’t want to tamper with the bonds established during the years of the liberation struggle.

Be it ANC, Zanu PF, Zapu or South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO) of Namibia, the fight for freedom is only worthwhile if it benefits everyone and not just a few.

In Zimbabwe, rigged elections have led to abuse of power, corruption, looting of public funds, extreme brutality and in many cases death at the hands of the State.

This is an old hymn and it is time democracy is applied to benefit everyone and not just the chosen few.

Sadc is affected by the crisis in Zimbabwe, hence it needs to be investigated properly. SWAPO should be supporting such investigations.

Corruption and looting of public funds inhibits development and the improvement of standards of living in Zimbabwe and in the region, hence the need for sister parties’ intervention.

If Sadc does not look into these matters seriously, it then begs the question: What are the revolutionary parties trying to hide?

Honesty and transparency is the best policy!!
