IN response to Just reform, US tells ED, BHONZO says: It is unfortunate that the Zanu PF-led administration still thinks it has more magic tricks under its sleeves, which no longer works. Zimbabweans are now highly-educated people such that they are able to differentiate what is good and bad for them. Zanu PF followers can do their antisanctions march, but nobody cares. All that goodwill President Emmerson Mnangagwa had when he toppled the late former long-time ruler Robert Mugabe is gone. We have seen the real faces of people who led us into all this mess. We all know the reasons why the United States imposed sanctions on the Zanu PF government and it is also in the best interests of Mnangagwa that he reforms and respects the rule of law if he really means it when he says his administration is the new dispensation. What’s really angering is that what the United States is telling Harare is genuine. Now, because of him and his acolytes’ selfishness, they have impoverished the populace. Everything has moved from bad to worse. My gut tells me that we were actually better off under Mugabe.
IN response to Securocrats scale up surveillance, CHODA says: What is happening within the government sector is not pleasing at all. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is exhibiting all the telltale signs of a dictator, a tyrant in the making. He is fool-proofing his presidency. And he knows he has the backing of other dictators across the world. Surveilling dissenting voices just goes to show that Mnangagwa is unsettled and living in fear, he fears his colleagues more than he fears the electorate or activists, who are just a rumbling voice. You live by the gun, you die by the gun. Incidentally, you overthrow someone through a coup, you also go the same way. No one in the opposition has the capacity to lead a coup in Zimbabwe, hence he fears those in the corridors of power. He can win against his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, who reportedly is angling to take over, but Mnangagwa cannot win over the system.
IN response to Law against ‘errant’ NGOs in the pipeline: ED, TAMBO says: The regime is panicky and it knows it’s living on borrowed times. Non-governmental organisations in Zimbabwe are only there to show authorities direction, not to stage coups or any of that. Obviously we cannot all speak in one voice. One way or the other, we should protest against the one-party State President Emmerson Mnangagwa is trying to impose on us.
