IN response to Police intensify Ginimbi death probe, CHOFAMBA says: The probe should start with his source of wealth. Where did the late 36-year-old Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure get the money to “bring Borrowdale” to Domboshava and manage to buy a fleet of sleek cars. These are questions that are of public interest. The folks at Zanu PF headquarters have even suggested declaring him a provincial hero for outstanding service to the business community, so I guess it is in the public interest to establish what those businesses are, where they are, what they are into and how they can be kept going after their proprietor’s demise.

SAMURIWO says: The Zimbabwean problem stems from being shallow, no genuine desire for progressive knowledge. I fear we missed the opportunity to share with Ginimbi his experiences when he was in the land of the living. In the same way Peter Pamire died with his entrepreneurial genius, Ginimbi may have died with his story. We never demanded it when he lived and with most black Zimbabwean businesses being sole traders how do we expect to get anything authentic now?

IN response to We’re not in control: Zec, says: If everything rests with the Executive, then what if the same Executive declares that there will be no elections in Zimbabwe for the next 10 years, will Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba fold her hands and wave play on? By her own admission, Justice Chigumba has confirmed what many people always feared — Zec is captured. Zec has always made questionable decision which have been in the ruling party’s favour. After the 2018 elections, Zec admitted that it erroneously announced Dexter Nduna as the winner of the Chegutu West constituency in general elections, but two years down the line nothing has been done to rectify the mistake. Zec should understand that its mandate is to administer the Electoral Act, so it is in control of anything that pertains to the Act whether it upsets President Emmerson Mnangagwa or not — that is what independence is all about. It is Zec’s mandate to defend the constitutional rights of Zimbabweans. So Zec by implication is saying it was not in control of the 2018 election? Why didn’t Chigumba reveal that long back?
