God revealed, not mystic

RELIGION has made it appear like God is some mysterious being who doesn’t want to be known let alone interact with “mere” human beings. Some mischief makers want it appear as if God is so holy [He’s holy] and that just a chosen few can have a heavenly encounter. Is it God’s desire to hide away from humanity? Does He want to be known by the fallen world? Religion is bent on hammering into the very core of our superstition in order to bar us from fellowshipping with God.

We may need to pause and consider some candid interrogations. God’s book, the Bible is an amazing volume with 66 books. Would someone who wants to remain mysterious and out of touch with readers inspire penning out a 66 book compilation? Pause and ponder.

In the modern world, people post pictures and statuses on social media and other media outlets to be known and probably accepted and appreciated as well. Isn’t it God’s desire to be known and therefore believed?

Early in His Book, the Bible, a discourse happens. We’re apprised of the Godhead conversation in Genesis 1:26-27, “[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

“[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

God’s intention of having His family is so clear here. His desire was communion with humanity.

If you read further you will see it in the Garden of Eden. Moses built a tabernacle to point to God’s will to tabernacle or live with His people.

As His book continues, the Prophet Isaiah gives us another angle. Isaiah 7:14, Amplified writes, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].”

Please note, God with us. A Being who wants to stay in hiding and shrouded in mystery can’t do that.

The mystery is demystified or unveiled in Christ Jesus. Matthew 1:23 records, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

How do we know it’s Jesus? Matthew 1:21 answers us, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

It’s sin that had kept humanity distant from God.

Jesus is the solution. He’s the Saviour and Revealer of God.

At a deeper level, He’s God in man’s body. Consider John 1:18 (Amplified), “No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].” In Christ we see God.

We should move away from this human mind-set that whatever we don’t know is a god or sacred thing. You know nameless trees they used to think were responsible for bringing rains. Science and biblical evidence tell us how rain falls. Paul met such people at Athens. He said in Acts 17:23, “For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.” God doesn’t want to be unknown.

Jesus revealed and reveals God and to the believers, we’re one family of God the Father in Christ. The writer of Hebrews sheds more light, Hebrews 1:1-3, “[1] Amplified In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets, [2] [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. [3] He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high.

God is open to us and wants us to have the right, precise and accurate knowledge of Him. Let’s embrace His Revelation, Jesus Christ. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
