IN response to Khupe is a failed politician: Bhebhe, CRESPO says: MDC-T acting leader Thokozani Khupe has never been a politician of repute. She has been using her gender card to rise to power in both the labour movement and opposition politics. This is the reason why she has not won at MDC congresses. She has nothing to offer. Khupe is bent on derailing the people's project spearheaded by MDC Alliance president Nelson Chamisa.
IN response to Civil servants wade into Zanu PF politics, MUSHOMA says: There is need for the separation of government and party. The Constitution is very clear on this one. No one can serve two masters at once. One can either be a civil servant or politician, not both. The conflation of government and party is a departure from the dictates of the Constitution. Last week, the media was awash with reports that some judicial officers had thrown their hats into the Zanu PF district co-ordinating committee (DCC) ring. This is a serious indictment to the independence of the Judiciary as an arm of the State. Civil servants, just like security forces should not dabble in politics. This has a tendency to compromise them in the discharge of their duties. It is their right to support a political party of their choice, but this should be outside the scope of their work.
IN response to Ncube promises to recapitalise NRZ, BANGA says: This has been the case since time immemorial. The Zanu PF government is good at making promises, but it is at the fulfilling stage that they falter. Recapitalising NRZ is the way to go and is long overdue. It has a ripple effect on the economy. But besides recapitalising the parastatal, competent people should be appointed to turnaround the fortunes of the company. For some time, parastatal boards have been a preserve of the boys. Cronies and politically-connected individuals have always been recycled to lead State-owned enterprises and the results were obvious — looting.
IN response to Diarrhoea outbreak
hits Harare Central Prison, SHAVA says: This is sad. We hoped that the 2021 National Budget would priorities the construction and refurbishment of prisons nationwide so that the Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services can decongest its facilities. It is a shame that Zimbabwe, four decades after independence, has an outbreak of such disease. It seems the socalled new dispensation is just a farce.
