IN response to One COVID-19 death per hour, SHAVA COLEN says: We should all help fight COVID-19 pandemic by observing lockdown regulations. However, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration should make sure the vulnerable are also helped. Many people are not employed, hence they eke a living through the informal sector. It would be a noble idea to cushion the informal traders, which will help greatly in making the lockdown successful.

IN response to Zim prisons a death trap: EU, JAY J MWENESANI says: It’s a pity that the people’s rights continue to be trampled upon by the State. Prisoners deserve better, even though they are criminals. Their rights must be observed so that they reform and do not become hardened criminals.

IN response to I have been arrested 65 times without conviction: Sikhala, NJANI MINA says: This shows how the State wastes taxpayers’ money on issues that do not matter. Why is it that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration finds joy in arresting opposition figures and human rights defenders in an effort to frustrate them? We need a change in our judiciary operations so as to differentiate the so-called new dispensition with the Mugabe-ism era. Political arrests should be a thing of the past.

IN response to ‘Brace for more demolitions in Harare’, CHAMBOKO says: This is a welcome development, I believe it will help clean the City of Harare. Illegal structures must be demolished and all land barons who sold State land should be brought to book. This must be a wake up call for those who build on wetlands without councils’ approval. The long arm of the law must catch up with the land barons and must take course.

MARIRANGWE says: This is evil, especially when those in authority are treating others like this. It must be noted that the real culprits who were at the forefront of dishing illegal residential stands taking people’s money are not being pursued by anyone because they are politically-connected and they will never be shaken at all.

IN response to Big names sign up for The Big Debate, JACOB MARINGE says: We need more discussions like these in Zimbabwe. Well-done Alpha Media Holdings for organising such an event. Dialogue and discussion are things that are lacking in Zimbabwe. Please do more of these in future.
