IN response to Health workers

bear the brunt of COVID-19, TAPS TAPS says: Our health workers are the most dedicated individuals. If it were not for COVID-19, most of them could have been at work without resources, with some even using their own. The problem is that our government is creating enmity with people who are putting their lives at risk to save the nation. Many of these people have been on their own for a long time.

IN response to Zanu PF chef ‘exposes’ army brutality, KINGSTON

NYAKATSAPA says: The army has always been brutalising people. Our government defends its actions instead of making sure citizens are protected. The culture of impunity is damaging the country. Why are soldiers enforcing lockdown regulations all over the country when we have a police force that can do it? Zimbabwe is not at war? The Beitbridge Border Post is flooded with soldiers who harass and beat up people, yet nothing happens to them.

IN response to Dingy Zim prisons a result of corruption: Chin’ono,

CHITOVA POWER says: These prisons were built under the late former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith to house political prisoners. They were meant to be torture camps. In this era, prisons are meant to reform, not torture or kill people. There is no running water, no space to sleep. Prisoners use the bucket system because there is no water, they are locked up most of the time in dirty cells with bucket toilets that they can only empty when they let them out, and that is for a few hours. Cells are infested with lice. People with mental illnesses are locked up without medication, posing a danger to other inmates. It is unfortunate that dangerous criminals are locked up together with those who commit petty crimes. There is no proper clothing, so a lot of prisoners are basically naked or in rags. There is no food. Only those with relatives who can provide blankets, clothes, food and money can survive. Even those on remand, it’s a disaster.

IN response to Zim to receive 1

million COVID-19 doses, HADY NDIAYE says: The issue of the COVID-19 vaccine is never clear in Zimbabwe. Finance minister Mthuli Ncube says citizens will pay for the vaccine. But these guys looted money meant for such social services. Corruption and misgovernance are the root of our problems in this country.
