IN response to Women demand friendly showbiz environment, SOUTHPAW says: These types of gender comparisons are giving people headaches. Only yesterday, a man was bashed for making a similar comparison. The issue of gender balance remains controversial, especially in Africa. I believe female artistes should not wait for affirmative action to rise to the top. It is sheer hard work that takes people to the top. We have several female artistes who defied the odds and went on to make it to the top without the help of such programmes.

IN response to Dzamara’s wife seeks closure 6 years on, DZIVA MURONGA says: It is a plea to President Emmerson Mnangagwa because he was Justice minister when Itai Dzamara was abducted in Glen View, Harare in March 2015. Now that he has ascended to the presidency, he should show the world that he is indeed a reformist by bringing the Dzamara chapter to closure. It is high time Zimbabweans spoke with one voice and demand Dzamara’s safe return.

IN response to Police sued over MDC activists’ nude pictures, FRANCIS MUKAKAVARI says: Privacy is a fundamental right, essential to autonomy and the protection of human dignity. No one should infringe your right to privacy despite their position in society. Privacy aside, the question is why would a normal person take nude pictures? This is usually the end game.

IN response to Govt plots backdoor Chiredzi evictions, KELVIN MASEKO says: The Zanu PF government always wants to evade accountability. The eviction of Chilonga villagers to pave way for a lucerne farming project was bound to raise dust from the word go. It is high time Zimbabweans fought such shenanigans by the clueless regime. We know what happened to the people of Chiadzwa to faciliate diamond mining and Chivi villagers to pave way for the construction of Tugwi-Mukosi Dam. That must not be repeated. If the Chilonga villagers in Chiredzi are evicted, this would set a wrong precedent. Government should make decisions after consulting stakeholders.
