IN response to Bloodbath in Chamisa camp, HON CRISS says: While MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora played no part in the recalling of MDC Alliance vice-president Tendai Biti et al, but after this week’s round of recalls, he is the happiest man on earth, not least because his project to reduce the number of opposition MPs in Parliament is fructifying. The Zanu PF agenda of a one-party State is finally becoming a sad reality. Draconian laws such as the Patriot Bill will be passed without so much as a whiff from anyone. Mwonzora and his band will vote for anything. On any day good or bad, the late former President Robert Mugabe was a saint compared to this clueless government masquerading as the new dispensation.

SPENCER MANGWANI says: Zimbabwean politics is unsettling. Both Zanu PF and MDC Alliance seem to be going in a direction that does not have people’s interests at heart. Until the opposition sits down and creates counter strategies to everything that is being thrown at it by Zanu PF, then we can start to see some activity. People are waiting for their leaders to defend the 2018 vote. Come 2023, it won’t just be the two political parties we will be looking at. We will be looking at leaders with potential to take this country to the next level. People who do not go into Parliament to sleep, sing and cause confusion and commotion. The power of a party is in the confidence of the people. If people lose confidence in a party, it dies.

KANOZ MARTIN says: Why are elected representatives always removed by unelected individuals? This is grossly undemocratic, no one will have any faith in the election system. However, it is only possible in a banana republic. It’s now a free-for-all.

JOB SIKHALA says: This is a complete overthrow of the Constitution, undermining every facet of democratic electoral politics. This is a coup against the electoral choice of the people. We are now in complete constitutional anarchism. However, this must not tire us from demanding our freedom.
