Kitchen-Link eyes regional market
KITCHEN-LINK, a local firm which specialises in both home and office decor, has been challenged to embrace innovation as it seeks to conquer the regional market.
Speaking at the company’s new branch in Mutare on Saturday, businessman and development practitioner Stanley Dawa, who was the guest of honour, challenged the company to partner innovation hubs at learning institutions in Zimbabwe so that their operations, products and services are in sync with trends obtaining on the market.
“I am encouraged by your strides as a wholly indigenous owned brand and I challenge you to invest in research and development as you seek to conquer the market. Investing in research and development keeps you ahead of other players in your industry,” he said.
“It is, therefore, important that you make use of wood technology departments in academic institutions like Mutare Polytechnic and Africa University to establish innovation hubs that can aid your work.”
Kitchen-Link founder and chief executive Richard Muchaka said they were working with a view to satisfying the local market while making inroads into the regional market.
“When we came into this home and office decor industry, we were alive to the competition that exists, but being a people’s brand, we have embraced family values and our products and services embody who we are as a people, even our customer service is exceptional,” he said.
“For that reason, we are exploring all the possible avenues to grow our brand beyond the borders of Zimbabwe. Africa is our home and platform and we believe as Kitchen-Link we have the pedigree to compete anywhere, we are thankful to our clients and stakeholders for the support.”
Kitchen-Link administrator Privilege Muchaka said they would continue growing the business both as a service to humanity and in contribution to the growth of the Zimbabwean economy.
“A decade in the industry has not been an easy journey, but we are highly encouraged by the continued support from the market and milestones to date. Our thrust is to become the trusted home and office decor company in Zimbabwe and beyond,” she said.
“Having a showroom and office space of our own in Mutare is a clear demonstration of our desire to satisfy the market, create opportunities for locals and contribute to the growth of the economy.”
