IN response to Zec in eye of storm over poll rigging, MAVIS NEE says: A brazen violation of the Constitution is a heinous crime punishable by a long jail term in a democracy, Zec be warned.

SEKURU GUDO says: The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission must put its act together. There is no need for the electoral management body to revisit the 2018 elections which they bungled. Now is the time to prepare the groundwork for the 2023 elections, especially to make sure that the provisions that allow those in the diaspora to vote are in place. Zec should engage stakeholders and come up with a roadmap to make sure electoral reforms are implemented before the 2023 elections. Zimbabwe has had disputed elections since the turn of the millennium and this has left the country polarised. Zimbabwe cannot afford to have another disputed election.

IN response to ‘Running dry’: Zimbos turned away for vaccinations after shortages, MAININI MUSINDO says: Thank you NewsDay for telling the truth because the situation is now desperate. This is the reality on the ground. It is true many people who received the first dose of Sinovac are extremely worried because they are being turned away when they go for the second dose.

MAI RURU says: This problem emanates from the fact that our government has been relying on donations inasfar as COVID-19 vaccines are concerned. The government should be proactive. With the third wave knocking on our door, the issue of vaccines is a matter of life and death so it should be prioritised.

IN response to MDC duo acquitted after 8 years in jail, MUROMBO MUNHU says: We have had too many wrong convictions in Zimbabwe, specially in the second republic. We need an overhaul of the whole justice system in Zimbabwe. Will the government compensate the two MDC activists who suffered for the eight years they have been in jail? This cruelty must not go unchallenged. The Zanu PF government is hell bent on making those holding different views pay heavily so that on one will ever oppose it. But nothing lasts forever. There is a motive behind their release, which only Zanu PF is aware of, time will tell.
