PLUMtree-BAsed artiste manager and events promoter Handsome “Handy” sibanda said it has not been easy to work with 10 artists across genres on the song Vuka Plumtree meant to promote and unite up-and-coming singers in the border town.

“i have been used to doing projects with one or two artistes at a time, so working with 10 artistes on Vuka Plumtree was challenging because half of the artistes were in Zimbabwe while others were in south Africa,” he said.

“the producer was in Bulawayo, so i had to make sure that everyone gets the opportunity to record at the studio and use technical specifications directed by the producer. recording 10 vocals in 10 different studios was very difficult, because of quality issues, we had to work hard.”

Handy said due to financial constraints, they would not be able to record the accompanying video for the song.

“We dropped the song on tuesday and we have been giving it for free to the audience as a way of accommodating those who cannot afford to buy music online. We are appealing to well-wishers to help us to raise r12 000 to shoot the video,” he said.

“Hopefully we will get funding. We need to do the video that i feel is important to the artistes and fans as it represents Plumtree people. through the song, we got to be united and it gave us an opportunity that we never had as Plumtree artistes coming under one umbrella and working together”.

Handy said he was happy with the positive response the song was receiving on the market.

the song features artistes such as Bif skuad, tsibi, rs, ice easy, thabo, tWt, demoe rose, rs,C4 and Babongile sibanda.
