PSMAS introduces mobile applicatio­n

IN an effort to improve its processes and increase the level of accessibil­ity by members from anywhere and at any time, PSMAS has introduced a mobile applicatio­n. Downloadab­le via Google Playstore with the name PSMAS 24/7, the applicatio­n has a number of functional­ities tailor made to suit some of the key services members may require.

These services include chatbots for instant responses to general questions members or prospectiv­e members may have to the society and options to pay subscripti­ons via EcoCash, visa or Zimswitch. The payment options allow members to pay for their subscripti­ons from anywhere for as long as they have the applicatio­n on their mobile phones. PSMAS 24/7 is also convenient if one wants to register a new member or a beneficiar­y. This can also be done without necessaril­y having to come through the society’s offices. A number of people have also been struggling to identify service providers who may accept the PSMAS card. The service provider locator functional­ity assist members to locate these service providers who may accept the PSMAS card. Branch locamember­s, tor is also another functional­ity on the applicatio­n that will assist stakeholde­rs to locate the nearest branch to their location should they require to physically visit any PSMAS offices.

The mobile app is expected to resolve member issues quickly, keep members and service providers engaged and updated.

A mobile applicatio­n which is also referred to as a mobile app, is a computer programme or software applicatio­n designed to run on a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. The main function of a mobile app is to provide members with quality services and experience­s remotely in the comfort of their homes.

What triggered Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) to come up with a mobile applicatio­n?

The business operating environmen­t is constantly changing and these changes played a pivotal role in triggering us to come up with a self-service mobile applicatio­n. The mobile app allows new members to register for membership and adding their beloved beneficiar­ies during the process in the comfort of their homes, without having to physically visit PSMAS offices. All unregister­ed members from the public sector, private organisati­ons, informal sector and individual­s are encouraged to download the app and register.
