IN response to Hospitals overwhelmed, TAONGA CHAMBOKO says: So far, government has done so well, but there is room for improvement, especially in towns where it should put strict measures in place by barring anyone who has not been vaccinated from getting access to government and council offices. Remember, more than half of the people who test positive are those not yet vaccinated. Therefore, government should incentivise people to be vaccinated. It must also make sure it introduces mobile vaccination centres to cater for those who are shunning vaccination due to long queues. If government adopts these suggestions, we will begin to see less people visiting hospitals.

IN response to ‘Give AG power to prosecute, enforce accountability’, FARAI CHIDEMBO says: Former State Enterprises and Parastatals minister Gorden Moyo is very right when he calls on Zimbabwe to change its statutes and ensure that the country’s Auditor-General’s Office is bestowed with prosecutorial powers to enable it to enforce accountability. He has been very consisted with his message always lambasting corruption. We need more people like him who challenge the system. Auditor-General Mildred Chiri should be taken seriously, if Zimbabwe is to win in the fight against abuse of public funds. We should prosecute and jail people who abuse public funds.

IN response to ‘Political interference undermining Zacc’, RANGA KOSORAI says: Some anti-corruption activists should understand that the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission was appointed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose name has been dropped on a number of occasions. It would be foolish for the nation to expect the Zanu PF-led government to fight corruption because the majority of Zanu PF leaders should be in jail.

IN response to State makes U-turn in ED name-dropping con-artist, CHAREWA DZENGA says: Why is it that we continue to see more people name-dropping President Emmerson Mnangagwa in criminal activities? It raises more questions on why his name is always dropped in such criminal activities. I think people who abuse the President’s name should be jailed, which should send a clear message to would-be offenders. Mnangagwa should dissociate himself from such rogue individuals to show us that he is serious about fighting crime.
