IN response to Zim COVID-19 budget dries up, HANDEI CHAROVA says: Finance minister Mthuli Ncube should know that lies have short legs. A few months ago, he told the world that Zimbabwe had registered a budget surplus, where is it? Mthuli used to boast that he had enough funds to procure COVID-19 requirements. What has happened now? All things being equal, Ncube should have been fired because he is a big let down.

IN response to We’re too broke to fund Zanu PF: Vendors, WEZHIRA says: I do not think it is fair for Zanu PF to demand funding from impoverished informal traders given the economic situation obtaining in Zimbabwe. Last month, Zanu PF demolished stalls that informal traders were operating from, so expecting them to lend a hand is asking too much. Expecting perpetrators to be funded by the victim is cruelty of the highest order. Vendors must not be cowed by Zanu PF.

IN response to Houses built on sewer line cost council US$60 000, MBUDAYA says: I do not think Chitungwiza Municipality should carry the burden of regularising the 11 houses in Unit K that were built illegally at a cost of US$60 000. In situations like this, the law must take its course. A lesson must be learnt and this would dissuade people from erecting illegal structures. The houses must be demolished and the land barons involved arrested.

IN response to ‘Drug abuse reaches alarming levels’, MUZII says: The government should do something about drug abuse as a matter of urgency. It is unfortunate that wellconnected people are at the centre of supplying drugs to youths.

IN response to Mwonzora party survives Alliance axe, CHIRONDA says: People must not give MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora relevance because he is a ruling Zanu PF party project. He intends to derail the freedom train from taking Zimbabwe to the promised land. With his shenanigans, Zimbabweans will remain in Zanu PF bondage for several years.

IN response to Zim needs 3 000 more schools: Mathema, TONDERAI SHANGA says: It seems Primary and Secondary Education minister Cain Mathema is clueless on what his job entails. While the country needs more schools, the government should capacitate existing ones with books and pay decent salaries to teachers. It does not help to build more schools that will be manned by demotivated teachers.
