IN response to Zim begs US for talks on sanctions, TANA GUNDA says: The President Emmerson Mnangagwa-led government should not expect the removal of sanctions when corruption and gross human rights violation in the country are at an all time high. You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

JAMES MUSA says: Is Zimbabwe on sanctions? I doubt this Zanu PF talk of sanctions. As far as we know, these sanctions are targeted at individuals who have brought the economy of our country to its knees due to natural resources plunder and massive corruption. The Rhodesian government was under real sanctions, but it thrived.

MUCHA MAKU says: This is not about talks, but implementing reforms. If President Emmerson Mnangagwa implements reforms, there is no doubt that sanctions will be removed. The Zimbabwe is open for business mantra is meant to buy time because they are always waffling, but there is no action on the ground to support the mantra. Zanu PF should know that Americans want the Second Republic to reform. If the ruling party is serious about reengagement, it should implement business-friendly reforms and act on corruption.

CHIBANDURO says: Zanu PF chefs are not good at anything except violence. They are not capable for doing good for the citizens. Zanu PF is only trying to buy time as we approach the 2023 elections. If it is really honest about the removal of sanctions by now we should have seen President Emmerson Mnangagwa rebuking his spokesperson George Charamba for telling the nation that security chiefs will not hand over power even if MDC Alliance’s Nelson Chamisa wins.

In response to MDC Alliance seeks diaspora funding, ROMBAS TIVA says: The MDC Alliance is not yet serious about campaigning for 2023 elections. By now, we thought they had already penetrated Zanu PF strongholds, especially in the rural areas. MDC Alliance is not making use of information communication technology to reach out to youths. Even the funding it is looking for, it can only get it if it plays its cards correctly.
