IN response to trial: State, ISRIAL FAINOS MABURO says: Just like any other Zimbabwean citizen, Marry Mubaiwa must have her day in court because there is nothing so special about her. She must serve as an example that no one is above the law — even the wife of a Vice-President can also face justice. Marry should not expect public sympathy because what is happening to her is a reflection of how she treated former Zimbabwe national team striker Shingi Kawondera.

IN response to ‘Mad’ Chamisa provoked us: Zanu PF, TONGAI MBADA says: I find it awkward to see an old man like Zanu PF acting commissar Patrick Chinamasa lying to the nation about the violence that happened in Charumbira communal lands in Masvingo. We saw that Zanu PF perpetrated the violence and to make matters worse riot police teargassed MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa at a private residence. Inasmuch as Chinamasa may try to portray Chamisa as “mad”, we vehemently differ with him. It was a well-organised assault on MDC Alliance and Chamisa by Zanu PF. The perpetrators are known Zanu PF activists. Chinamasa cannot shield those who committed acts of violence against Chamisa. Given such utterances, we begin to wonder who is mad between Chamisa and Chinamasa.

IN response to Govt moves to block nurses’ exodus, PATRICK NGONI HANYANI says: Why does government waste taxpayers’ money by setting up an inter-ministerial committee to look into the brain drain in the health sector after a sharp rise in the number of health professionals leaving the country for greener pastures? Poor remuneration is pushing nurses to leave their jobs. Government must make sure that it creates an environment that makes our currency stable, offering nurses nonmonetary incentives such as staff accommodation, transport, vehicle loans, provision of meals and wi-fi facilities is an insult because they need their own accommodation which they will continue to occupy after retirement and competitive salaries which enable them to send their children to schools of their choice.

IN response to ‘Councils should respond to sewer bursts within 24hrs’

TAURAI SHANGWA says: Councils do not have the capacity to repair burst sewer because they are being sabotaged by Zanu PF so as to tarnish the opposition’s image.
