- BY OWN CORRESPONDENT

OutstaNdiNg leaders in various spheres of business were honoured at the recently held 2021 Megafest Leadership awards. the Megafest Leadership awards, which are in their 13th year, followed a selection process in which nominations were drawn from various organisations across the country and subjected to a rigorous adjudication process.

the awards recognise, develop and promote leadership at all business levels.

they are part of the many awards (which include the popular business awards) that were introduced by Megafest chief executive tafadzwa Matsika and are supported through donations and sponsorship.

since then several well-known leaders, managers and corporates in Zimbabwe have been recipients of the premier and prestigious Megafest awards.

the winners would have made outstanding contribution to the development of the Zimbabwean economy through sterling leadership in their respective spheres of influence.

the overall vision is to recognise high standards, service excellence and development within the Zimbabwean economy.

these awards are meant to recognise and honour luminaries of the Zimbabwean industry as a whole, for their outstanding contribution, exceptional efforts and achievements in their respective fields.

there is no doubt that over the years, competition stimulated by the Megafest awards has strengthened professional business management and upgrading of services in the whole country, as individuals and companies try to outwit each other.

For this year, some of the platinum winners included associated Foods’ simba Nyabadza, who was honoured for being a leader in milling and food production.

Ken sharpe walked away with the gong for the real estate industry while Booties’ daisy Chavunduka was crowned pharmaceutical leader.

sugar Chagonda also got a platinum for leading in public relations and corporate affairs.

For the beauty and spa sector, Lucy Memory Moyo shrugged off stiff competition to grab the coveted prize.

in advertising, Victor shambare led the pack and tandiwe Mapolisa was recognised as an oustanding woman of influence and leadership.
