Indosakusa to hold debut show Giya Fefe
AWARD-WINNING Isichatamiya gospel group, Indosakusa/The Morning Star is set to stage its debut show dubbed “Giya Fefe” since 2020 at the Bulawayo Theatre this Saturday.
At the concert, Indosakusa/The Morning Star will be supported by legendary Tafi Dube, a visually-impaired musician who is popular in Bulawayo for singing renditions of the late country musician Don Williams and many gospel tunes.
Group leader Oscar Siziba told NewsDay Life & Style that the show had been requested by fans.
“We will be having our first show in 2021 on December 4 and it will also be our end of year show. We will offer them a good performance and this time we are having a new appearance on stage, new songs, new dances, the production will be just a unique one,” he said.
“The show will feature legendary musician Tafi Dube, who has managed to stand tall for decades in the industry despite the ups and downs faced by many artistes. So, to us, it will be like an honour to him and there is a lot which we are going to do for him on the day. After the show, we are going to see how we can also collaborate with him.”
Siziba lamented the harsh conditions faced by the group during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our journey was not good because of these lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as we host this show, we are not doing it for profit, we are just doing it for our beloved fans who are hungry to see us on the stage,” he said.
Speaking of some members leaving the group, Siziba said: “People may change, but the vision remains the same. We don’t own people as Indosakusa, we own the name. It’s a project, so whoever feels like going, he is free to do so without any harassment.”
