IN response to Panic as Omicron variant cases spike, MUNAMATO says: I was shocked yesterday to see very high figures of new COVID-19 cases. We are being reckless. This Omicron variant is spreading like a veldfire, and we should adhere to COVID-19 safety regulations to save lives. From the look of things, I think there are more variants to come, and COVID-19 will be with us for a very long time if we continue being reckless. Government must urgently place the country under lockdown.

IN response to Citizens urged to reject PVO Amendment Bill, MAGOFE says: The Zanu PF regime does not care even if the whole country rejects the Private Voluntary Organisation Amendment Bill. We have seen it in the past. Despite President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying “the voice of the people is the voice of God” and that he is “a listening President”, he has demonstrated that he is an antithesis of what he preaches. We have long complained about corruption in this country, and he has failed to curb the vice. He has failed to feed this country, and private voluntary organisations have stepped in to do that, but his appetite to shut them down is shocking.

IN response to Arbitrary arrests expose govt, MBUDAYA says: The system does not care as long it would have pushed its agenda. It would rather waste resources pursuing ghosts and shadows than put those resources to good use. This is rampant in many countries across this world, but Zimbabwe takes the crown. I have never seen a government as paranoid as ours. We have a ruling party that bullies other parties in the country, and even sister parties in the region. Zanu PF leaders should be ashamed of themselves.

IN response to Govt gazettes Child, Justice Bills to fight child marriages, NDABANENGI says: I believe government is not doing enough to send a clear message that child marriages should stop forthwith. Our laws should be rejigged so that perpetrators have no chance of escaping the tight noose of the justice delivery system. What lacks in this country is justice being done, although it appears to be done. Many of these perpetrators are from the apostolic sects, although there are others from outside the sects who do it.

IN response to Militarisation of the Zim State — an insider’s view, GRAPHTON says: The truth of the matter is that the military will never let go of the levers of power. It has interests and will make sure it protects them at all costs.
