IN response to Trial delays: Zacc, NPA in blame games, PIKIRAYI says: It’s a tragedy that these entities are playing blame games on such a sensitive matter. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) will accuse the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) of doing shoddy jobs in its investigations, thereby leading to many cases before the courts collapsing and justice not being delivered. On the other hand, Zacc will be blaming NPAZ for not doing enough to nail people, hence the blame game continues unabated. It’s the same with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, which failed to pronounce dates for by-elections, saying it could only do so if the Health ministry lifted the statutory instruments banning the holding of elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. No one wants to be responsible for such crucial tasks. It’s mudslinging all the way.

In response to 18 CSOs take on Biden over blanket travel bans, GWIZHIKITI says: It’s funny that civic society organisations are finding time to complain to United States President Joe Biden over the blanket travel bans. The US does not care what happens in any other country, unless it has interests there. After Zimbabwe engaged in the land reform programme in 2000, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (Cites) has been used to ban trade in ivory even in countries that are signatories to the Cites treaty just to fix Zimbabwe. Now cases of human-animal conflicts are on the rise because the carrying capacity of our national parks are failing to sustain the wildlife and communities are the ones suffering. So Americans will not give a hoot about what we think about blanket travel bans, as long it suits them.

In response to Charamba warns ‘sellout’ ex-ZCTU boss, CITIZEN says: I will not say much about presidential spokesperson George Charamba save to say he is not the only one who thinks he knows everyone’s character and shenanigans like the back of his hand. I just want to let him know that we know his too, and one day we will not hesitate to share his “stories” and make him pay for his sins.

In response to Church, Harare City clash over street preachers, MACHANJA says: What do the by-laws say? I think it’s high time we clean our streets of all the mess. Also, kudos to the local authorities for cleaning the drains, repainting road markings, giving our roads a facelift. I think the local authority can do more. It’s unfortunate that the ruling Zanu PF party is throwing spanners in their works.

In response to Zimbos engage Ramaphosa’s deputy over permits, BARAVARA says: All those Zimbabweans in the diaspora should come back and vote for development, instead of begging to continue squatting in foreign lands.
