THIS is the first week of 2022. Thank God you are reading this article. Let’s make this year a great one by structuring and systematising our success. We don’t bump into success, but we create it by following principles. Here are ten thoughts that will help you effectively manoeuvre and embrace 2022.

Tech skills

Technology is connecting all parts of our lives. If you have computer skills you have an upper hand, and without those skills, you are at a disadvantage.

This is a portable skill that can help you in any industry. The computer controls almost everything.

Technology makes performance and production fast, and automated. Technology increases speed, agility, efficiency, integration, and effectiveness.

Get courses on basic computer skills and YouTube is a great free university with almost everything.

Read a book

Books are a collection of ideas, thoughts, and testimonies. You can learn anything through a book. It takes discipline to read and get mentoring.

Transferable skills

Hard skills can be easily acquired from any college or university. However, soft skills are central.

Research is showing that IQ is not enough, but we need these small skills which include emotional intelligence, communication, confidence, personality types, people skills, negotiation and selling.

Know thyself

If you know yourself and what you are built to do, this adds direction to your life. Be clear about who you want to be?

Where do you want to go? What do you want to achieve?

I have since realised if you don’t know what you want in life, other people with clear dreams will use you to accomplish their dreams.

What are your passions? Your purpose?

Be a creator

Your value in the market increases if you create something. Create content that is compelling, informative, engaging, appealing, and entertaining.

Everyone has potential. Learn to tap from your inner deep self. You have resources and reservoirs of greatness inside you.

Great people always create something. Write content for a blog. Sing that song.

Write that book. Start that business. Carve that niche. Never die without something with your name on it.

This is a world of competition and you have to stay on top of the game. Not only that, strive to get out of the red ocean into the blue ocean.

Learn to sell

You might have a great product, but if you are not able to sell it, its value will not be realised.

If there is a skill you must have considering the economic environment, it’s selling.

Sell your products and skills. This takes effective communication.

Tell people about your brand. Unless people know it, how will they ever experience it?

Use all available channels of communication to make people aware. Increase your digital footprint. Be visible.

You might have a great product, but if you hide it no one will see it. Grab attention.

The colour of character

Character is seemingly a minor issue, but it is the main glue that keeps your brand together. Character is about your core values, principles.

It’s the true you. Be authentic to yourself. Be yourself. Be honest with others.

Don’t try to be someone else because you want to fit in. You stand out when you are honest and original.

Build synergies

Success is when you are able to engage other people to help you build your dream. This journey is lonely to walk alone.

This journey is tough to cry alone. Find a shoulder to cry on.

The route can be rugged and rough and you need a friend who sticks closer than a brother so that when you are down, he reaches for your hand and says “Lord I am with you till the end of the world’’.

Learning agility

Never sit on your laurels. Never bask in your past glory. Look for ways to improve yourself.

Remember, change is happening around us, but the most important change is from within.

Just do it

Action is very important because it builds a mental idea into something tangible or sellable.

Will it be easy? Not at all, but you must do it. Be consistent and committed.
