IN response to MDC Alliance activist Haruziviishe granted bail, EVIDENCE JAMES said: Makomborero Haruziviishe is a true liberation hero of our time. He spent more than 10 months in prison for a petty crime. He came out with his spirits high. Thanks to the Zanu PF government for facilitating political legitimacy for opposition young leaders. Viva Mako!

MAI RURU says: Zimbabwe needs more young people like Makomborero Haruziviishe. The struggle continues. We welcome Mako to another prison called Zimbabwe.

IN response to ‘Council must enhance revenue collection’, MTHEMBO DUBS says: People are not gainfully employed to be able to pay council bills. The government should correct economic distortions, then the rest will fall into place. As long as people are out of employment, they will not be in a position to pay council bills. It is incumbent upon local authorities to devise other means of raising revenue. Commercialising projects and entering into public private partnerships is the way to go. Relying on rates is not sustainable.

TAKESURE S DUBE says: The Constitution provides for devolution, but the government is not keen on operationalising such provisions. As long as devolution is not operationalised, local authorities will remain incapacitated financially. Local authorities should benefit from resources in their localities.

IN response to Mthuli appeals rice tax ban, JUSTICE Z ZIMUDZI says: Well, I think Finance minister Mthuli Ncube is being illadvised. Someone in the corridors of power is setting him up to fail. Most of the decisions he has made are out of touch with reality. Before his appointment, Ncube was vocal against bond notes, but as soon as he joined the gravy train, he changed the chorus. He can not bite the hand that feeds him. Let us all register to vote in 2023 to bring all this nonsense to an end.

IN response to Chirundu police camp collapses, CHARLES MUTORINHO says: Looks like everything is collapsing in the second republic.

SYDNEY SHONAI says: The problem is that the Zimbabwe Republic Police has misplaced priorities. They have been abusing funds they get from roadblocks without refurbishing their infrastructure.
