Let’s help each other tackle women, girl child issues

-

CITIZEN in Action Southern Africa (CIASA) is a registered non-profit organisation established by a group of women activists coming together in recognition and belief that the organisation can make a significant and positive impact in southern Africa and beyond.

CIASA’s formation was meant to tackle important issues at a scale where it can achieve significant and measurable impacts.

The organisation’s ability to take risk and make long-term and relatively large commitments should allow it to undertake challenges not accessible to many other organisations.

This is against the realisation that marginalised women and girls are being left behind in the development discourse of several southern African countries.

CIASA seeks durable change, thus CIASA, is a specialised organisation which was established as one of the major outcomes of the baseline needs assessment and research conducted across southern Africa.

The research are organised in response to the solidarity and the need to build movements that help address national crises, especially on issues around lack of proper democratic and economic governance, barriers in accessing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health rights integrated with HIV and Aids and gender-based violence and; women exclusion in natural resources governance at the turn of the millennium that primarily affected countries in southern Africa.

The organisation seeks to provide oversight and think tanking around women and girl child-related issues with special interest to health, poverty reduction, climate change implications, child protection, environmental sustainability and; democratic and economic governance.

This e-platform has been created to enable CIASA to connect with members, stakeholders and partners, and share real time updates, alerts and reports.
