IN response to Come clean on abuse, govt told, JOPE MABURIRA says: Zimbabwean authorities will always deny abusing citizens. Just a few days ago, I laughed as I read that the police were denying that they brutalised members of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe. What a joke. In 2020, State security agents allegedly brutalised three MDC Alliance activists and dumped them about 90km north of Harare, not before sexually abusing them, as the activists claimed. The State must stop abusing citizens.

IN response to Chiwenga, nurses face off over new ‘illegal’ body, FORGET MASEKO says: Command health will not work. There is need to address fundamental issues in the health sector, and years have passed by with government ignoring the pleas made by health workers.

IN response to Farm workers jobless as Mpofu defies High Court, RUSSELL JON says: All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others, wrote George Orwell in Animal Farm. Zanu PF secretary for administration Obert Mpofu is wilfully disregarding a High Court order. Not only him. Last week, army Colonel Leonard Gwanzura defied government orders to stop disrupting farming activities at a farm owned by white commercial farmer, Garry Hobbs in Hurungwe. So defiance is in the DNA of these powerful people.

IN response to Muguti, ChiTown town clerk under fire over demolitions, BOYIKOTI CHIPOKO says: We all know that can never happen. If you are linked to Zanu PF and you play politics that give it an advantage, you can defy the High Court orders with impunity. That is the tragedy of Zimbabwe.

IN response to Mhofu back Mapeza, P JAPA JAPA says: As Zimbabwe, we could have easily qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations second round slot that was taken by Malawi. Our international players took the first two games for granted hoping to pick up later and we lost. The national team line up as it stands is quite good with very talented players, the likes of Jordan Zemura, Kuda Mahachi, Ishmail Wadi and the tough as teak Onismor Bhasera. The goalkeepers were excellent, especially Petros Mhari. What is now required is to keep the team together and intact for a long time, make them play as many friendlies as possible. No club must refuse to release the players for friendlies. Coach Norman Mapeza did his best and if given an opportunity, he can get past that first round stage.
