IN response to Govt at the forefront of undermining the Zimdollar, GIFT PEDZISAI says: The sooner Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor John Mangudya accepts that the local currency is virtually dead, the better for Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe should adopt either the United States dollar or South African rand. The Zimdollar is not sustainable. Citizens cannot store wealth in a currency that is always on a free-fall.

MAI RURU says: If the government does not have confidence in its own currency, who will? Most government services are charged in foreign currency, but the same government expects its citizens to use the worthless local unit. This does not make sense.

IN response to By-elections: ED goes for broke, ARNOLD CHAKAZAMBA says: It is the same old victims who fall for the same old lies and after elections they get evicted from the land allocated by Zanu PF. These title deeds are a scam — their issuance will be dragged beyond elections, mark my words. When will our people wise up?

MUKUNDA CHITOVA says: Zanu PF has realised that it cannot fulfil its 2018 electoral promise to construct two million houses before the next polls. Now it is resorting to doling out title deeds to illegal settlers. The problem with such a move is that it is local authorities that will be left counting losses.

MWANA NGUNDU says: While there is nothing wrong with government giving out title deeds to ensure security and bankability of the properties, the timing of the move raises more questions than answers. One wonders why President Emmerson Mnangagwa should preside over the handing over of title deeds to illegal settlers. Those people have no site plans, so how are they going to get title deeds? It is a fact that Epworth sits on a Methodist Church farm. Has the government changed ownership of the land?

MUZOKOMBA GIRL says: Zanu PF is just politicking. If the government is serious about giving title deeds to urban dwellers, it should start with old suburbs such as Mbare, Mabvuku, Highfield, Mufakose and Dzivarasekwa. Epworth was deliberately made to benefit first because there is an upcoming by-election. These are Zanu PF’s old tricks of buying votes. Wise up.
