CONTEMPORARY music group Fusion 5 Mangwiro appears to have struck the right cord in its endeavour to carve a niche in the competitive showbiz industry.

The group made up of the talented trio of Aaron Manyati, Brian Maguta and Gilbert Gwatidzo has on several occasions proved its mettle with polished performances.

Fusion 5 Mangwiro gave a sterling performance at Women in Business Brand activation for fashion house Trend-Zone Defined Wear in Belgravia, Harare, at the weekend.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, Manyati said they were encouraged by the continued confidence in their group by corporates, adding that they valued professionalism.

“For Fusion 5 Mangwiro, our story is of sheer self-belief, hard work and defying odds and we are happy with the direction things are going,” he said.

“We started off in the high-density suburb of Glen View and it’s always a pleasure when we get to perform at exclusive and high-end corporate events like this one. We are even more excited about the future.”

As its star continues to shine, the group has been nominated for this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe Music Awards (Zima). Manyati said there was no better way of appreciating their works than such recognition.

“We want to be the best and represent our country in the region and beyond. Our music is a fusion of different, but endearing sounds and we are very confident of its depth,” he said.

“Getting a Zima nomination at this stage is a big confirmation of our class and our pedigree. We want to thank the fans and the organisers for this kind of recognition and we hope to continue giving our best.”

The Trend-Zone Defined Wear brand activation was aimed at introducing the corporate branding and image consultancy side of the business.

Trend-Zone Defined Wear founder Florence Rupapa partnered Business Shower director Pride Manyika and Miss Pride in organising the event.

“Music has got a way of speaking to souls and we are happy that Fusion Mangwiro has given impetus to our sister’s event. It has done exceptionally well in that regard,” Manyika said.

“Trend-Zone is a brand of choice and they have continued to grow over the years and we congratulate my sister Florence Rupapa as she unveiled this new business line.”

The event was attended by some of the who-is-who in business including celebrated creatives and influencers who all commended the organisers and the band for a top-notch event.
