Windscreen Fitment Centre celebrates silver jubilee

-

TWENTY-FIVE years have been a learning curve for Windscreen Fitment Centre which has weathered storms and came out stronger and more resilient. With COVID-19-induced lockdown it was tough, but the team pushed to make it work, disinfecting clients’ cars and offices.

“It was expensive but it had to be done. Staff was vaccinated as part of efforts to reach herd immunity,” said Natasha Maremo, the centre’s operations supervisor.

Maremo said she joined the company in 1998 when it was just a small family business owned by Nevil and Mike Dredge.

Below is her story:

Our motto was always “first world standards” and we strive to live up to our reputation.

The business catered for people from all walks of life — be it farmers, insurance companies, aid organisations and walk-in customers. They were always satisfied with our friendly staff. Windscreen Fitment Centre grew in services over the years and we then introduced our famous smash and grab protection film that is very popular and we were trained by our South African suppliers how to install it professionally. Management changed several times, but we still kept our tradition.

Many staff came and went through Windscreen Fitment, but we still maintained our motto of quality fitting. We lost some employees due to illness and retirement, but those that remain till this day continue to keep the workmanship and outstanding business ethics and our motto. We have worked tirelessly to improve our standards and intend to do so for another 25 years to come.

We give great thanks to the likes of I Amen, S Smith, C Zietsman‚ M Morgan‚ S Moyo, R Dzumbunu‚ C Fresco, R Katchomba‚ S Chabvu and W Zuze for they were involved in the formative stages and through them many satisfied customers have been taken care of.

“To be the leading glass company, a first-class service provider,” Maremo said.

She also said the company was focused on continuous growth and embracing new technology.
