SOUTH AFRICA-BASED Zimbabwean singer Dylan “DWEEZY” Nyambe has said his prayers have been answered as he is set to share the stage with Mzansi’s star rapper KO at a concert on March 30 in Botswana.

The hip-hop artiste, born Ntokozo Mdluli, is known for hit songs such as a Caracara.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, DWEEZY said it was not easy to shine in a foreign land, adding that he was in the right track that needed to be complemented by hard work.

“It is not easy to come from Zimbabwe and make it in South Africa and moreover, get an international booking with a heavyweight like KO. This is something I have been praying for for a long time and my prayers have been answered,” he said.

“It is such a breakthrough to get this international booking to share the stage with KO and also to have rubbed shoulders with award-winning South African comedian Trevor Noah at my album listening session. I consider this to be a great milestone unlocked.”

DWEEZY said although his musical journey had not been that rosy, he, however, managed to navigate the challenges and build his brand to become the artiste he is today. “I have faced rejection, especially back home (Zimbabwe). I, however, embraced every rejection as a lesson and motivation. That is when I noticed that I hustle hard when my feelings are hurt, you will never find me where you left me,” he said.

“I have never been nominated for any awards in my home country, but here I am bagging them. I told myself that I am the best and my music is global content. Now I am a whole package made in a foreign land.”

Born and bred in Zimbabwe, DWEEZY relocated to South Africa in 2018 to further his music career.
