EcoCash Holdings ZITF stand draws large crowds, showcases diverse digital products, services

THe ecoCash Holdings Zimbabwe Limited’s stand at the ongoing Zimbabwe Internatio­nal Trade Fair (ZITF) has been a hive of activity from the first day of the fair, as visitors seek to explore the group’s diverse businesses and products.

The listed group’s business portfolio consists of assets in financial technology (FinTech), insurance (InsurTech), on-demand services, e-commerce, agricultur­e technolo- gy, health technology and educationa­l technology.

“The Zimbabwe Internatio­nal Trade Fair is an important platform for our business units to exhibit their products and services to our various market segments, represente­d by the many people — both exhibitors and visitors — attending the Fair,” said the group’s spokespers­on Fungai Mandiveyi, who is attending the fair.

This is the first time the diversifie­d technology group, listed on the Zimbabwe Stock exchange in December 2018, is exhibiting at the Trade Fair under its rebranded name of ecoCash Holdings Zimbabwe (eHZ). It was formerly known as Cassava Smartech Zimbabwe Limited.

Some of the group’s business units exhibiting at the ZITF include ecoCash, eHZ’s awardwinni­ng mobile payments platform.

ecoCash recently launched its United States dollar (USD) cashin and cash-out services that allow registered and non-registered users to send and receive US dollars to anyone in Zimbabwe.

The product has already started helping hundreds of thousands of Zimbabwean­s, who were struggling to safely send money in foreign currency to their family and friends on a secure and trusted platform, both in urban and rural areas.

ecoSure, eHZ’s popular micro-insurance product — which has over two million customers — is also exhibiting at this year’s ZITF.

ecoSure provides convenient, affordable and innovative insurance solutions directly from the customers’ mobile phone.

The insurer has been a key leader in driving social inclusion in the country.

Steward Bank, a digital bank that gives depositors’ access to the full suite of digital banking solutions via their mobile devices, is also exhibiting at the fair.

Several visitors to their stand opened bank accounts while customers with queries were promptly served at the bank’s stand.

Steward Bank, which is the largest commercial bank by depositors in Zimbabwe (with over three million customers), has seen steady growth over the past few years in which it embarked on a digital transforma­tion drive which is entering its final phase.

Visitors to the ZITF also had time to understand the suite of products that Moovah offers.

Moovah is eHZ’s short-term insurance product which offers cover for property, vehicles, household contents, personal effects and other assets in a hustlefree and convenient way.

MARS, a pre-hospital care service, with ambulances equipped with advanced life support and other emergency services countrywid­e, is also exhibiting at this year’s ZITF, along with Maisha Health Fund which has been showcasing it healthcare and health insurance products.

Among other things, Maisha provides administra­tion services for medical funds as well as medical aid services for

individual­s and corporates.

Its services range from entrylevel packages, right up to premium medical aid packages.

In addition, Maisha Health also promotes healthy living through mobile-based Health Tips, Dial-a-Doc and Tele-Health centres under the Maisha Medik brand.

It uses AI (artificial intelligen­ce)-powered apps and telehealth platforms to provide health advice, diagnosis, treatment as well as monitoring to ensure overall health and wellbeing.

ecoCash Holdings is also exhibiting products under its ondemand services which include VAYA Mobility, VAYA eLogistics and VAYA Digital Farmer which have been attracting special interest from farmers, transport operators and logistics companies.
